For many of the estimated 34,000 people in Northern California living with leukemia and other blood cancers, the only hope for survival is a bone marrow transplant. It is the mission of Project Share Life to increase the number of potential donors in the National Marrow Donor Program Registry, which links patients who need transplants with volunteer donors. In the words of one transplant recipient, “Any individual joining the Registry has the potential to do what all of medical science and skilled doctors cannot: provide a chance for a healthy life to a patient facing certain death."
