In 1998, The American Red Cross, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Sacramento Medical Foundation Blood Center, the National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP) and Rotary Districts from the Oregon border to the Monterey Peninsula began a collaboration called Rotary Project Share Life.

Rotary Project Share Life seeks the partnership of local foundations, corporations, concerned citizenry and patients suffering from leukemia, lymphoma and other blood-related cancers. Located in Northern California, it is auspiciously situated in a geographical area that is potentially rich as a source for bone marrow donors due to the size and diversity of its population. The expansion and diversification of the Registry will increase the chances of treating and saving more cancer patients here and across the country.
